The Dragino LPS8N is a versatile and compact open-source LoRaWAN gateway designed for flexible IoT deployments.
It bridges LoRa® end devices to IP networks through Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or optional 3G/4G cellular. Consequently, it is ideal for farms, campuses, and industrial or smart city applications.
Built around the SX1302/03 LoRa concentrator chipset, the LPS8N supports 10 programmable parallel demodulation paths. This means it can handle high device density efficiently. Furthermore, it allows multiple simultaneous transmissions without performance loss.
With pre-configured LoRaWAN frequency bands (EU, US, and others), the LPS8N offers true plug-and-play ease. At the same time, advanced users can customize the bands to suit private or experimental LoRaWAN networks. As a result, it serves both beginners who want simplicity and professionals who demand flexibility.
Available Connectivity Variants:
LPS8N (No 4G):
• Ethernet + WiFi connectivity
• Best for indoor and router-connected setups
LPS8N-EC25 (with 4G LTE):
• Adds 3G/4G LTE module
• Ideal for remote sites without stable WiFi/Ethernet
• SIM card slot + LTE antennas included
Use Cases:
• Smart Farming Gateways – manage soil, water, and weather sensors across large fields.
• Campus or Estate IoT – connect multiple building or area-wide sensors into one network.
• Industrial Monitoring – factory, warehouse, or logistics IoT sensor backhaul.
• Smart Cities – environmental monitoring, waste management, or smart utility grids.
